Notre Dame swimmers Allison Kavanagh, Maya McPartlin, Lauren Neiheisel, Gracie Silver and Julia Walter took part in the MHSAA DIII State Finals preliminary meet at Eastern Michigan University on Friday, November 20th with Kavanagh and McPartlin qualifying to return for the final meet the following day. In the 50 Freestyle, Kavanagh came in 12th place and achieved a Notre Dame school record with a personal best time of 24.91. Kavanagh also came in 15th place with a time of 1:11.92 in the 100 Breaststroke. Both of these swims earned Kavanagh 2nd Team All-State honors. In the 100 Backstroke, McPartlin swam a personal best time of 1:02.56 and came in 13th place to also earn a 2nd Team All-State award. McPartlin swam the 200IM as well, finishing in a personal-best time of 2:20.72 to place 20th. The 200 Medley Relay (Silver, Kavanagh, McPartlin and Neiheisel) and 200 Freestyle Relay (Kavanagh, Walter, McPartlin and Neiheisel ) placed 21st and 23rd respectively. Other individual events were swam by Neiheisel (200 Free with a time of 2:09.90 and Silver (200 IM with a time of 2:27.85).
