The Notre Dame Varsity Softball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a pair of wins over Marian.
Junior Lauren Koenig threw a two-hitter in the opening game, striking out seven and walking one. Sydney Newby led the Irish offensive attack with three of Notre Dame’s 11 hits.
In the nightcap freshmen Jordan Smith picked up her first varsity win as the Irish used huge first and fifth innings to take the game 15-2. Smith gave up just two hits, struck out seven and walked nine. Newby collected four of the Irish 15 hits. Elena Schwegman, Meaghan Orlowski, Ryan McClain and Erica Gordy each had two hits.
