The Notre Dame Boys Varsity Soccer team advanced to the MHSAA DII district final with wins over Pontiac and #3-ranked Avondale.
Seniors Bryce Baringer and Danny Caton provided the offense and Will Baldwin recorded the shutout in the 2-0 win over Pontiac.
In the district semifinal against Avondale, Notre Dame took a 1-0 lead five minutes into the second half on a goal by Nick Evans (assisted by Baringer). The Yellow Jackets evened the score at 1-1 with 17 minutes left to play and the teams would head to extra time. Mitch Morisette stuck early in the overtime period and Baldwin made the lead stand up, making 15 saves in regulation and another 10 in overtime.
The Irish will take on Brandon in the District Final on Saturday – 4:30 at Notre Dame.
