Irish in Second After First District Meet

The Notre Dame Equestrian team traveled to the Armada Fair Grounds last week for the first of their three District meets. The Irish have seven riders and is competing in the "B" division against Oxford, Lake Orion, and Lapeer for one of two spots at the Regional meet later this month.

All seven riders scored for the Irish in route to a strong 2nd place finish.  Oxford led all teams with 224 points followed by Notre Dame with 191, Lapeer with 95 and Lake Orion with 83.

Kendall Lance led Notre Dame with 51 points highlighted by first place finishes in Western Riding and Trail. Collette Bockrath had an outstanding all around day contributing 36 points. Grace Parker brought in 34 points including a first place finish in Hunt Seat Over Fences. Cara DeFelice had a strong day netting 33 points for the team including a first place effort in the always difficult Saddle Seat Equitation class.  Senior captain Olivia Urban was solid throughout the day with 23 points.  In their first high school equestrian team event, the freshman duo of Lilly Urban and Madison Fraser both also brought in valuable points for the team.
