Playing with a healthy roster for only the second time this season, Notre Dame Varsity Volleyball defended their home court with a pair of wins over Country Day and Marian.
The first saw the Irish sweep the Yellowjackets, 25-12, 25-13, 25-9. Maria Famularo led Notre Dame with 17 service points including a match-high seven aces while also adding 13 assists and seven digs. Maddy Chinn had 12 kills and 13 digs, Natalie Risi had 12 service points, four aces, eight kills and 12 digs and Aly Borellis had six kills, 13 assists and five digs Olivia Kowalkowski scored 10 from the line (three aces) and had 10 digs.
The second match of the night featured three of the 10 Miss Volleyball finalists in Chinn and Risi from Notre Dame and Maddy Dowd from Marian.
The Irish came out on top in three sets, 25-14, 25-16, 25-18. In the final set the Irish trailed the Mustangs 12-6 before going on a run that tie the match 13 before never trailing again. Famularo was once again strong from the line scoring 17 points,to go with three kills, seven assists and nine digs. Chinn added 10 kills, five service points and eight digs while Emily Mohr had a game high six blocks. Risi had six points, one ace, eight kills and had 10 digs while Borellis added four points, four kills, four blocks, 13 assists, and seven digs.
With the pair of wins the Irish improve to 15-5.
