The Notre Dame Boys Varsity Basketball team earned a spot in the MHSAA Regional Final game following a 65-39 win over Almont High School.
Pressure defense was a big key to the success the Irish enjoyed as Notre Dame forced seven first half turnovers to take a 36-11 lead into halftime. The balanced attack continued in the second half as 13 players scored for Notre Damewith seniors Tariq Derrickson (16) and Josh Johnson (13) leading the way.
“I would dare to say we are playing the best we have all season,” Notre Dame coach Whitney Robinson said. “Our record maybe isn’t the greatest in the world, but we have played some very tough competition this year. All of those games prepared us for the postseason and I think that is why we are peaking right now. Our defensive effort is certainly at a high level right now.”
