Irish Come Back to Upset DCDS

Country Day, currently ranked 9th in Division II, traveled to Notre Dame for a Tuesday night Varsity Soccer match.

The Yellow Jackets opened the scoring early in the first half, scoring a pair of goals within a four minute span to put the Irish in an early hole. Despite the deficit, the Irish ratcheted up the pressure and scored the next goal when Oscar Guardado headed the ball to Nolan Mylenek who headed the ball past the Country Day Keeper for his 6th goal of the season.

Notre Dame would tie the game at 2-2 off of a corner kick when Gabe Myers played a great ball to Evaristo Garcia who scored his 3rd goal in the last four games off of a corner kick.  In the second half, both teams had multiple scoring opportunities and the Irish eventually scored the winning goal when Luck Babich made a long throw in to Tyson Lance who emerged from a scrum with the ball and scored his 9th goal of the season. Julian Lee returned from injury and made a big difference for the Irish attack throughout the game.

Once again keeper Alex Deck made key saves for the Irish, helping to move the team to a 9-6-4 record.
