The Notre Dame Cross Country teams participated in the Birch Run Fall Invitational for the first time. It was a flat, two-loop course with one hill, woods and several tight turns.
Meet officials struggled to try and get the race in despite several waves of severe thunderstorms in the area. The girls race was postponed once, than canceled midway into the race. Jenny Ohlsson was the lead runner when the race was canceled.
After returning to the school bus for about 45 minutes, the boys were called back for a quick start to try and get their race in before the storms returned. Eli Seitzinger, Adam Martin, Nathan Vogel, Eric Gaynor and Matthias Rangel all scored points for the Irish, who finished in fifth place (one point short of a trophy) out of the 18 teams that participated.
