Girls Golf Earns Regional Title

The Notre Dame Girls Varsity Golf team claimed the MHSAA Division Three Regional 18 title on Thursday at Pontiac Country Club.  Every stroke mattered as the host Irish finished with a team score of 363, edging out second place Marysville (364) by just a single stroke. Also advancing was Cranbrook, who scored a 368.

Dani Staskowski shot a 75 to lead the Irish and take first place overall individually in the field of 48 players. Sabrina Fitzgerald and Julia Wintermantel tied for 9th overall, each scoring a 94. Notre Dame also got contributions from Rachel Rook (100, 18th overall) and Malorie Wilson (101, 21st overall).

The Irish now advance to the MHSAA Division Three finals, which will be held at Michigan State University’s Forest Akers East next Saturday.
