Girls Cross Country, Seitzinger Qualify for State Finals

The Notre Dame Girls Varsity Cross County team finished in third place at the MHSAA Region 16-2 finals, qualifying for states in the process.

Ohlsson was the overall winner of the girls race with a time of 19:11, adding a Regional Championship and a third All-Region award to her resume. Ohlsson beat the nearest competitor by nearly 50 seconds. Maddie Monaghan (21:33), Lexi Fraser (22:02), Tess Censoni (22:17) and Nicole Carson (22:22) all finished within 37 seconds of each other to round out the scoring for the Irish. Allie Dawiedczyk (22:50) who gutted out a strong performance despite being injured and Riley Williams(23:37) will round out the team that will compete on November 2nd in the MHSAA State Finals at Michigan International Speedway (MIS).

The Boys team finished in fifth place, but fell short of qualifying as a team to compete at MIS in the MHSAA State Finals. Eli Seitzinger lead the Irish with a season best 17:10 and a career best fifth place finish, earning All-Region honors for the third time in his career. The finished enabled Seitzinger to qualify for the MHSAA State Finals as an individual. Adam Martin (18:19), Eric Gaynor (18:48), Nate Vogel (19:15) and Matthias Rangel (19:32) all ran close to season best times on the challenging and hilly championship course. Ben Pocius (19:55) and James Chabot (19:58) rounded out the scoring for Notre Dame.
