The Notre Dame Varsity Competitive Cheer team came out on top with a solid win at the Comstock Park Invitational.
Fighting to get back on top after a third place showing last year, the Irish started the afternoon competition with an impressive Round One score of 230.8 , with Comstock Park in 2nd with a 226.6 and Paw Paw in 3rd with a score of 224.7.
The Notre Dame team widened their lead after Round Two, posting a score of 222.36 and a running total score of 453.16. Comstock Park and Paw Paw were neck-and-neck in 2nd and 3rd place with two round score totals of 435.48 and 435.17.
The Irish came out strong in Round Three, suffered a minor penalty, but still posted a solid score of 286.1 and a grand total score of 739.26. It was enough to protect there 1st place slot as the Irish posted the win at Comstock Park, followed by Comstock Park High School with a grand total score of 712.78. and Paw Paw in third with a grand total of 709.88.
Notre Dame continues on their journey to defend their four state championships when they compete at the Stoney Creek Invitational on January 13.
