The Oakland County Cross Country Championships were held at the very challenging Kensington Metropark Possum Hollow course. The county meet includes all of the powerhouse schools from both Division One and Division Two, who compete together.
Jenny Ohlsson finished in seventh place overall in the girls race, first among Division Two schools. The Irish were shorthanded without assistant captain Lexi Fraser who was out with an injury, but Allie Dawiedczyk, Maddie Monaghan, Tess Censoni and Nicole Carson all performed admirably to round out the scoring for the Irish who finished in second place overall in Division Two. For Carson, her performance was a personal record.
The boys, led by juniors Eli Seitzinger, Adam Martin and Nathan Vogel, senior Eric Gaynor and junior Mathias Rangel finished in first place, earning the Division Two Oakland County Championship. In the JV race, freshman Ben Kinkade ran his best race of the season, setting a personal record by more than a minute on the tough, hilly course, earning a spot in the varsity line-up for the Gabriel Richard Invitational on Saturday.
