Boys Soccer Takes Annual Tournament

The Notre Dame Boys Varsity Soccer team took first place in their annual tournament with Flushing, Frankenmuth and Birmingham Groves, sweeping all three games to advance their season record to 5-3-3.

The Irish started the day with a 1-0 win over Flushing. Three minutes into the second half Notre Dame would get on the board when Brad Blakeslee sent the ball to the top of the box to Danillo Judd who served up a perfectly executed deflection touch to Anthony Pangori who scooted around the defender and found the left side of the goal.

In the second game of the day Notre Dame came away with a 2-0 win over Frankenmuth. Oscar Guardado scored from 30 yards out in the opening half (assisted by Blakeslee) and Chris Walter added an insurance marker with 15 minutes remaining in the second half off of a feed from Nolan Mylenek.

In the final game of the day, the Irish battled Birmingham Groves.  With 8 minutes remaining Mitch Morrisette scored the only goal of the game with assists going to Blakeslee and Nick Evans to give Notre Dame the tournament championship.

Will Baldwin recorded two shutouts on the day, making 9 total saves while Alex Deck also recorded a 3 save shutout for the Irish.
