Boys Lacrosse Tops OLSM for Regional Title

Ryan Genord scored his 50th goal of the season with 15 seconds remaining to seal an 11-9 win for the Notre Dame Boys Varsity Lacrosse team over Orchard Lake St. Mary’s and give the Irish a Regional Championship.

Johnathan Chabot led the Notre Dame offensive attack with 6 goals on the evening, followed by Genord with 4 and Chris Fitzpatrick 1.

The Irish defenders led by Victor Wagner, Matt Knill, Jacob Mukhtar and Braeden Fromwiller, along with tough play in the middle from Zach Atkins held the Eaglets in check for most of the second half as Notre Dame took an 8-6 lead into the 4th quarter after trailing 6-4 at halftime. Key possessions and ball control by Danny Caton, Will Caton, Max Stowe, and Lorenzo Minaudo helped power the Irish offense while Nick Schultz had a number of key faceoff wins.

Notre Dame will now play in the MHSAA Quaterfinals on Friday evening.
