Bowling finishes strong in Catholic League doubles meet

The Notre Dame bowling teams brought home recognitions and records yesterday at the CHSL Doubles and Awards event held at Bowl One in Troy.

Notre Dame senior Spencer Urban broke a school record on his way to rolling the league’s seccond highest series of the year at 523 (276, 247) as his team took the overall doubles crown today.

Junior Calvin Burns finished first in his division, and sophomores Sean Higgins and Jack Swanson both finished third in their divisions.

Urban was voted second-team CHSL all-conference and sophomore Nathan Audia was voted honorable mention all-conference.

For the Notre Dame girls team, junior Michaella Merlo took home second-team CHSL all-conference and classmate Jazyonne Daniels earned honorable mention.

On Saturday, the CHSL will host bowling championships matches for boys and girls at Oak Lanes in Westland.
