Hockey Gets Shutout Win on Senior Night

Notre Dame Hockey

Notre Dame Hockey picked up a 3-0 win over Utica High School as the Irish celebrated Senior Night.

After a scoreless first period, Will Caton netted the first goal of the contest, placing a backhand shot in the upper corner of the net off of a rebound from a Nick Wagner shot.  With just under  a minute to play in the second period Ryan Lindsey extended the lead to 2-0 on the powerplay with a goal on a tip from a Zach VanSolkema shot. VanSolkema would add a powerplay goal of his own early in the third period and Notre Dame would make the lead stand up as the Irish neutral zone play frustrated the Chieftains throughout the game.

Michael Conroy stopped all 20 shots he faced in net  to earn the win and his second consecutive shutout.
