The Notre Dame Varsity Softball team (21-2, 15-1) won its first CHSL AA division title since 2014 with a sweep of state-ranked Allen Park Cabrini 4-2 and 8-5. Caley Gleason picked up both wins for the Irish to improve to 19-2. The Monarchs took first inning 1-run leads in both games with the Irish answering to tie or take the lead both times both times. In the opener senior Madeleine Fazio went 3 for 3 (single, double, and triple) and drove in 2 runs, including the game winner to lead the Irish offense. Gleason gave up 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits, walking 2 and striking out 7. In the nightcap, Gleason helped her cause by going 3 for 3 and scoring twice. Kacey Edmonds went 2 for 3 and scored a pair of runs. Fazio was once again a force at the plate as she picked up 3 more hits (once again a single, double, and a triple), 4 RBI, and scored a run.
