Quick Starts Helps Irish in Win Over Stoney Creek

The Notre Dame Boys Varsity Lacrosse traveled to Rochester Stoney Creek to take on the Cougars. The Irish jumped out to a 9-0 lead after the first quarter and didn’t let up as they swarmed the Cougars all over the field while cruising to a 16-3 win.

Midfielder Logan Currie played a magnificent all-around game finishing with two goals, an assist and five ground balls. Adding to the scoring column were Max Stowe (four goals, three assists), Spencer Wittebort (three goals, three assists), Nick Pollack (three goals, two assists), Matt Gaynor (three goals) and Will Caton (one goal).

On the defensive end, Currie, Caton, Ethan Johnson, Andrew Phillipart and Brennan Holycross kept the Cougars off balance all game. Antonio Popp was solid again with seven saves.

The Irish improved to 5-3 for the season and will travel to west side of the state to take on Vicksburg and Mattawan this weekend.
