Hockey Travels to University of Notre Dame

The Notre Dame Varsity Hockey team traveled down to South Bend for a set of games, including one at the Compton Family Ice Arena on the Campus of the University of Notre Dame.

The Irish dropped the first of the two games 3-2 to South Bend Adams. Vincent Anderson game Notre Dame an early 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal in the first period. The Eagles tied the game in the second and went up 2-1 early in the third with a powerplay goal. The Irish would answer as Nick Popov would score with assists going to Toby Roth and Vaughn Carraher but Adams would score the eventual game-winner midway though the period. Sebastian Vanadia finished with 27 saves in goal for Notre Dame.

In the second game against South Bend St. Joseph the Irish and Indians would trade second period goals as Anderson scored off of a faceoff win by Ryan Lindsey before St. Joseph would score on a rebound. With just 22 seconds remaining in the game the Indians would score on a 2-on-1 to take the win. Vanadia was once again strong in net with 21 saves.

As part of the road trip the Irish also attended a team mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, view the Notre Dame Campus and took in a Women’s Basketball game.
